The Brawl Stars Championships pay out up to 1.5 million US dollars in prize money. In future, ESL will cooperate with the Finnish developer of the real-time strategy game and organise the competition. The world finals will take place next autumn.

What equipment do you need as a professional sportsman? The latest graphics card, a high-end PC for 10,000 Euros and the perfect mouse and keyboard? Or is a mobile phone not enough? The market for mobile games is now assuming unmanageable proportions and competitive mobile games are also becoming increasingly popular.

On Thursday, ESL announced the cooperation with the Finnish game developer Supercell. Supercell will again hold the championships for its title “Brawl Stars” and will bring the event organiser ESL on board for the upcoming final.

In order to qualify for the world finals in autumn 2020, smaller tournaments can be played monthly to collect points. Which modes will be selected will be announced by the ESL. The exact dates of the upcoming tournaments and qualifiers are also not yet fixed.

Supercell provides a fixed prize pool of one million US dollars. In addition, the community can increase the prize money by up to 500,000 additional dollars by completing in-game championship purchases.

Brawl Stars belongs to the category of real-time strategy games. Each player controls a Brawler – a character with different abilities. The game is divided into several modes, which have different goals and maps. For example, the teams have to collect jewels or crack a safe.

ESL is no newcomer to the world of mobile tournaments. Last year they already organized the Clash of Clans World Championship at ESL One Hamburg, which even surpassed the main competition in Dota 2 with a prize pool of one million US dollars.
