ESO Plus is currently available for free

You can play all Elder Scrolls Online DLCs for free right now – but there’s more in the Free Trial.

The Elder Scrolls Online has been diligently updated with countless new content and DLCs since its release in 2014, and now offers a massive world with quests and stories for an estimated half a lifetime. Normally, these have to be purchased separately or are included in the paid subscription ESO Plus.

Right now, however, you can play all this content completely free of charge – because in October 2021, a free promotion is running. We have all the info for you.

From when until when does the ESO Free Trial run?

The free trial week runs from now until October 25, 2021 at 4pm. During this time you will have free access to ESO Plus.

What DLCs are in the Free Trial?

The most exciting thing about ESO Plus is the free access to all DLCs for Elder Scrolls Online. You can currently play the following content for free:

  • Markarth
  • Dragonhold
  • Murkmire
  • Orsinium
  • Waking Flame
  • Flames of Ambition
  • Stonestorm
  • Harrowstorm
  • Scalebreaker
  • Wrathstone
  • Wolfhunter
  • Dragon Bones
  • Clockwork City
  • Horns of the Reach
  • Shadows of the Hist
  • Dark Brotherhood
  • Thieves Guild
  • Imperial City
  • Morrowind (Area DLC)
  • Elsweyr (Area DLC)
  • Summerset (Area DLC)
  • Greymoor (Area DLC)

From the big chapters Morrowind, Elsweyr, Summerset and Greymoor the complete story and the respective area are included, but for the new classes and features the chapters have to be bought. The newest chapter Blackwood is currently still missing in ESO Plus, but the DLCs from Gates of Oblivion are included.

Once hell and back! – This is what The Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood brings

What other content are you getting?

But the DLCs are not all. You can also get the following content for free during the trial week:

  • Crafting Pouch: This pouch gives you infinite inventory space for crafting materials.
  • Banker Box: Your banker box will be upgraded to twice the size.
  • XP Bonus: During the trial week you will receive 10% more experience points, gold and crafting inspiration. There will also be shorter analysis times.
  • Furnishings: You can place twice the number of items in the Living Editor.
  • Costumes: ESO Plus also allows you to dye your costumes, which is otherwise only possible with armour sets.
  • Transmutation Crystals: This gives you double the storage space for Transmutation Crystals, which you can use to change the properties of your armour and weapons.

How do you unlock the Free Trial?

To start the Free Trial, you need the main game of Elder Scrolls Online. There you log in, go to the ingame crown shop to “ESO Plus” and select “Free Trial.” You don’t have to pay anything and you don’t have to enter any further payment details; the trial week ends automatically on 25 October.
