Tim Willits, Creative Chief Officer of Saber Interactive, presents the features of Evil Dead: The Game in a (PlayStation blog entry). In this he goes into detail about the development process and the gameplay. He also pays tribute to the original film series, which celebrated its 40th anniversary last October.

The Demons Are Coming! Evil Dead: The Game, based on the cult horror series, will flicker across our screens in mid-May. The developers from Saber Interactive have worked closely with the actors of the film series to give fans an authentic gameplay experience. This is evident, for example, in the character design. The characters wear authentic clothes and are dubbed by the original actors.
The game’s large map is also packed with familiar places and Easter Eggs that fans can discover in the game. One key location, for example, will be the abandoned forest hut that Ash and his companions use as a refuge.

Evil Dead: The Game has a special gameplay feature. Fans can take on the roles of both the survivors and the demons. As humans, it is their task to explore the map and collect useful equipment and weapons. Above all, they must keep their fear under control. For only those who conquer their fear can send the evil demon Kandarian and his followers back to perdition.
In the role of the demons, players can take possession of various objects such as trees and cars. They can also summon the dead and, if they are powerful enough, even drive into people’s corpses.

Evil Dead: The Game will be released for all fearless fans of cult horror on 13 May on PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch, as well as on the Epic Game Store for PC. Pre-orders are available now.
