F1 23 looks set to bring back a feature fans have sorely missed

This year”s edition of the Formula One racing game will apparently bring back the story mode that was missing from its predecessor.

Do you remember Devon Butler? No? You should, at least if you want to play the upcoming EA Sports F1 23 this year. Because this young, extremely unlikeable man has already played a leading role in the 2019 and 2021 series spin-offs and is now apparently returning to the cockpit for a third time.

The story mode called Breaking Point will be back in F1 23. An official announcement of this year”s racer as well as an accompanying confirmation of the story comeback is still pending, but there is a clear hint with the fence post on the part of the developer studio Codemasters.

A new F1 team introduces itself

In a recently released video, Formula 1 racing team Konnersport Racing Team does the honors and introduces team management and driver lineup. The video also includes the aforementioned unsympathetic Devon Butler, who talks in his usual arrogant manner about how he wants to drive the competition into the ground. As you can see, the cliché club is being swung again in a big way.

Even as a passionate F1 fan, you”ve never heard of the Konnersport Racing Team? Don”t worry, you haven”t missed an important announcement – it”s just a fictitious eleventh team that comes from the developers” think tank and can be interpreted as a sure sign for the comeback of the story mode in F1 23.

The real Formula 1 presenter and Sky expert Naomi Schiff acts as host for the presentation. You can watch the team presentation in full length here:

What other new features should there be in F1 23?

Not much is known about the new series part at the moment. But that could change shortly, because the official Reveal on the part of Codemasters and publisher EA should take place shortly. More precisely, it should start on May 1, 2023.

Rumors so far speak of a revised research and development system. It is also expected that the F1 Life mode, which is unpopular among fans, will also find its way into the new part. There, players can buy new fashionable outfits for their avatar or supercars for a quick spin with so-called Pitcoins – but optionally also for real money.

How about your horsepower level? Are you really into EA Sports F1 23 yet? Would you be happy about a comeback of the story mode Breaking Point or are there other improvements and innovations on top of your wish list? Or have you already gone to the pits and hung up your F1 helmet for good? Feel free to let us know in the comments!
