This year, Bethesda wants you to enjoy a return to Appalachia with events in the style of popular past DLCs. Starting off with alien invaders.

Even three years after its release, Bethesda is not letting up and continues to put money and effort into Fallout 76. Now the roadmap for 2022 has been unveiled, revealing the further plan for the entire year to brave bunker dwellers.

According to this, new events will start every three months, which should offer a lot of variety with alien invaders, deadly machines, a return to the Pitt known from Fallout 3 as well as a Nuka World Roadshow.

The four events at a glance

The events, sorted by season, each pick up a theme from a previous Fallout expansion.

Spring – Attackers from Space

Even back in Mothership Zeta for Fallout 3, it was all about visitors from outer space. Now they return and make the Appalachia region unsafe. From 01 March 2022, you can destroy their sinister experiments with friends in public events and random encounters. In addition, the new themed event “Season 8: A Better Life Underground” will start in spring and new game options such as VATS disabling and abilities will become available for Fallout Worlds.

Summer – Hardening Test

There will then be a total of three new public events in the summer. In addition to “Eviction Notice” and “Moonshine Jamboree”, the focus will be on arena battles against all kinds of dangerous machines in the event “Hardness Test”. The robot theme is reminiscent of the Automatron expansion for Fallout 4.

Autumn – Expeditions: The Pitt

From autumn onwards, you can leave Appalachia for the first time and explore the post-nuclear Pittsburgh called “The Pitt” in special missions, which veterans already know from the second DLC for Fallout 3. In addition to brand new rewards, there will of course also be a reunion with the mutant species of the Trogs that live there.

There is even a small teaser for the expeditions to Pitt, which we of course don’t want to withhold from you at this point:

Winter – Nuka-World on Tour

In the cold season, it’s not the Christmas Coca-Cola trucks that pull up, but in keeping with the scenario, a Nuka-World roadshow visits Appalachia. The legendary soft drink was already the focus of the Nuka World DLC for Fallout 4 and the event will bring regional bosses along with other public events.

What else you should know about Fallout 76

How Fallout 76 has changed over the past three years and whether that’s enough to give the game a second chance, we’ve summarised for you in a video:

A little review: The online offshoot of the Fallout series had an extremely bumpy start, as the technical and content-related state fell far short of the promises and expectations. In the meantime, not only have improvements been made, but the number of players has also been stable for several years.
