Fallout London loses important author to Bethesda

Bethesda has snatched up Stephanie Zachariadis, an important story writer for Fallout: London. But that shouldn’t break the ambitious mod’s leg.

Fallout: London has caused quite a stir in recent months, and for good reason. After all, the ambitious mod aims to deliver what fans of the role-playing game series have long wanted. And with this, the Total Conversion team for Fallout 4 has apparently also attracted the attention of Bethesda.

From a fan mod to Bethesda

The developers of the mod have now announced that their most important story writer, Stephanie Zachariadis, has been poached by Bethesda itself, where Zachariadis is now working as a quest designer. At the moment, however, it is not possible to say exactly which project she is working on.

It should be obvious that Zachariadis is made for her new job: The (former) head writer of Fallout: London has already been awarded various prizes for her work and can look back on an impressive CV. Of course, it will now be exciting to see what happens with the total conversion without Zachariadis, but the team is already providing an answer to this.

Fallout: London remains on course

So Fallout: London will continue without a head writer: In an official statement the modders announce that they are losing an important member of their team in Stephanie Zachariadis, who was primarily responsible for the story of the main quest and numerous dialogues. In the future, however, she will not be able to continue working on this in parallel with her new Bethesda job, because otherwise there would be a “conflict of interest”.

Zachariadis’ previous work will, however, remain with Fallout: London and the story will not be rewritten or changed afterwards. The story itself will now be continued or finalised by the rest of the team behind the mod, while a search for a replacement for the head writer position is already underway on Discord.

In addition, the team behind Fallout: London emphasises that Stephanie Zachariadis’ decision to move to Bethesda does not cause any bad blood. On the contrary: her former colleagues are behind her decision, congratulate her on this opportunity and wish her nothing but the best for the future.
