The Fallout London DLC mod was originally due to be released next week. But now developer Team FOLON has announced some bad news. The release of the project has to be postponed indefinitely.
Fallout London is a huge DLC mod for Fallout 4. Developer Team FOLON announced the project back in December last year and set the release date as April 23rd
However, during a 10-minute video published yesterday, Project Lead Dean Carter had to announce the postponement of the mod. The reason for this is the next-gen update planned by Bethesda, which is due to be released on April 25. Once this goes live, it will no longer be possible to play Fallout London, as it was developed on the basis of the last-gen version. Interested parties would not be able to download this update in order to play the mod. However, Carter emphasized that they wanted to present Fallout London to the masses
Since the impact of the next-gen update on Fallout London cannot be foreseen, it is currently not possible to give a new release date Instead, the development team consisting of fans will also have to wait for the release of the update and then make the appropriate adjustments. Depending on the extent of the changes, this could take some time
Fallout London will not be available via Nexus Mods
However, the release of the next-gen update is not the only stumbling block on the way to release. As Carter explained in the video, Fallout London has matured into a real mammoth project and now weighs between 30 and 40 gigabytes in total conversion. This makes the mod too big for Nexus Mods, the largest and best-known portal for modders.
At least an elegant solution was found for this problem. Fallout London should be available at release via GOG – for everyone who owns Fallout 4 on GOG or Steam. The mod could also be available for the Epic Games Store as Fallout 4 will also be accessible in this store in the near future.
When there is a new release date for Fallout London, we will give you an update.
