Bethesda’s games are planned by bugs when they are released. To make Starfield run better, modders want to work on a fan patch now
Bethesda games like Fallout, Skyrim, Oblivion and Co. have a lot in common. Not only do you find some of the best game worlds of all time, but also heaps of bugs and technical problems.
With Starfield, the next great open-world hope will be released in the first half of 2023 – and the modding community is already preparing to fix the worst bugs for the release.
These are the problems the Starfield Community Patch is supposed to fix
Bethesda is known for its ambitious role-playing games like Fallout and The Elder Scrolls, but the scale and complexity have also given Bethesda’s games another, less pleasing reputation: they are often plagued by many bugs and errors upon release.
Fortunately, this is where the strong modding community comes in, taking matters into their own hands when it comes to improving games, refining gameplay and adding new features – and work for Starfield is already picking up steam.
The (Starfield Community Patch) has a similar scope to the bug-fixing mods for Skyrim and Fallout, and focuses on fixing bugs and glitches rather than adding new content. Among other things, the modders involved expect the following bugs:
- Wrongly placed objects
- Script error
- inconsistencies in the properties of objects
- Faulty missions/tasks
- Game-breaking exploits
- Missing attributes (e.g. tags, header flags, etc.)
- Correct spelling errors
The project invites all players to report bugs they find after the release of Starfield. If you are tech-savvy enough, you can also submit your own fixes, which will then be integrated into the overall patch.
