The garden becomes a sandbox – wait, that sounds confusing. The digital garden becomes a sandbox in Garden Life! Here you can tend to your favorite plants without getting your fingers dirty

When you think of a cozy farming simulator, you usually think of games like Harvest Moon or Stardew Valley. But you don’t have to grow vegetables to find relaxation: It can also be a flower garden! At least that’s what the developers at stillalive Studios think, who are working on a new Cozy Game with Garden Life and will soon be finished!

What’s Garden Life all about?

Instead of getting your hands dirty with dirt, you can create your dream garden digitally. The makers make sure that you have to meet the real needs of the different plants if you don’t want your favorite flowers to wither away.

The greenery doesn’t always grow the same way, by the way, thanks to a procedural system your garden grows naturally and always differently. The game is played from a first-person perspective – you can get a first impression of the gameplay in the following trailer:

At least two game modes are available in Garden Life. There is the Story mode, in which you fulfill missions from different characters. It is not yet clear whether the relationship with these characters goes beyond pure missions and how much Story there is ultimately in the mode.

If you don’t fancy quests and just want to live out the eternally dormant needs of your green thumb, you can create the garden of your dreams in the free game mode. By the way, this doesn’t just mean the question of whether sunflowers look better next to orchids or hydrangeas: You can also distribute inanimate decorations! The ever-popular garden gnome is of course included. But is it really that lifeless …

The release is not far away: Garden Life will be released on February 22, 2024 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Series X/S.

If you’re already in the mood for a new cozy game, you should take a look at the following article on the newly released Coral Island – the game is celebrating strong player numbers and heaps of positive reviews on Steam!
