SNK announced the return of a legendary fighting game this weekend. Fatal Fury is making its big comeback after a hiatus of over 20 years.

In 1999, Garou: Mark of the Wolves was released as the ninth instalment of the Fatal Fury series. Since then, the franchise had eked out its existence in a slumber. But this sleep has now surprisingly come to an abrupt end. SNK announced a new spin-off of the series at the weekend. However, the Japanese company is still keeping the official title, release date and available platforms to itself. We will also have to wait a while longer for gameplay material.

With Fatal Fury, SNK laid the foundation for its popular fighting games. To this day, the characters of the series can be found in various other titles of the genre. Terry and Andy Bogart, Mai Shiranui and Geese Howard still appear in King of Fighters. In addition, Terry and Geese appeared in Tekken 7. Terry also made an appearance as a DLC character in Super Smash Bros Ultimate.

We’ll keep you posted on any new Fatal Fury info as it comes in
