In February, the first scenes directly from the game were announced for this month, but Anno fans will have to wait a few more weeks.
Many strategy game fans have marked April red in their calendars, expecting to finally see real gameplay of Anno 117: Pax Romana. Unfortunately, this is not going to happen, but Ubisoft is just moving the whole thing to next month.
Anno 117: Gameplay not until May
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Ubisoft admits to having been a little too excited about the unveiling of the first game scenes and having slipped a little in the calendar.

What can we hopefully see?
For fans, a new Anno game is exciting enough, but the new installment breaks with tradition in some ways.
For example, the very likely return of land battles, as some legionnaires were spotted in the first trailers. Building walls and towers is also part of the new Anno.
A lot is also happening in the construction itself, because for the first time in the series’ history, streets can also be built at a 45-degree angle. For purists, however, this option can easily be switched off in the options.
In addition, the series’ rectangular building grid, which has existed for 27 years, is also changing. Buildings can then also be placed diagonally. This takes up a little more space, but should create more organic-looking cities.
You can find out more about the innovations mentioned in the articles in the box above. However, it is not yet known which of them will be shown in May.
