The playtest for the roguelike sequel is currently underway. We explain how you too can take part with a bit of luck

It will still be a while before Hades 2 is released. Early Access is currently scheduled to start in Q2 2024, so the final version may not even be on the horizon yet.

You can still play Hades 2 right now – with a bit of luck. You can register for the playtest that has started on Steam

How to register for the playtest of Hades 2

There is no guarantee that you will be allowed to take part in the playtest. Who gets to play Hades 2 earlier than everyone else depends solely on chance

If you are a fan of the predecessor and are looking forward to the upcoming roguelike, it can’t hurt to register for the playtest on Steam.

Follow these steps:

  1. Visit the Steam store page of Hades 2.
  2. Scroll down until you reach the box Participate in the Hades II Playtest&nbsp.
  3. Click on the green button Request access

If you are an influencer, you also have the option of a key assignment from the developer Supergiant Games. However, access is not guaranteed here either

If you want to take part in the playtest, you should of course also make sure that your computer meets the official system requirements. However, this should not be a major problem given the minimum requirements already communicated:

  • Operating system: Windows 10 64-bit (or a Steam Deck)
  • Processor: Dual Core 2.4 GHz
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: 2GB VRAM with DirectX-12 support

Hades 2 continues the story of its predecessor. This time you play Melinoë, the princess of the underworld and sister of Zagreus, the protagonist of the first part – at least if the well-known mythology is anything to go by, the development team may also take creative liberties

Melinoë’s goal is already clear: she has to kill a Titan who is also her grandfather. But family matters always have to be so complicated …
