First trailer for Gran Turismo movie sets the mood for fast-paced action and fantastic images

In the age of video game adaptations, you never know what title Hollywood and the video game industry will set their sights on next. Now we can see the first cinematic trailer for the upcoming Gran Turismo. Jann Mardenborough, the winner of the GT Academy Esports Tournament in 2011 will serve as the inspiration for the movie.

A true story and great snapshots in the Gran Turismo trailer

The film tells the true story of Jann Mardenborough, who won the GT Academy Esports Turnier in 2011 and is now a professional racer in the Japanese Super GT series. The role of Mardenborough is played by Archie Madekwe, of Midsommar fame. Other roles also include Orlando Bloom, David Harbour, Djimon Hounsou and Geri Horner. Sony and Hollywood has a number of top stars in front of the camera for the film. The film is directed by Neill Blomkamp, who has been involved in successful films such as Demonic, Chappie, Elysium and District 9 . The script comes from Jason Hall, known for American Sniper, as well as Zach Baylin from King Richard. So there is enough creative power. Now the finished film just has to convince.

The film is produced by Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan of (PlayStation Productions) Kazunori Yamauchi, the creator of Gran Turismo and head of Polyphony Digital, is involved as an executive producer. The trailer of the film shows over two minutes of footage and gives a good insight into the mood of the film as well as the expected story. In particular, the fancy cars, naturally also the main focus of the film are perfectly staged.
