New week, new free games at Epic: This time you can grab the action cracker Shadow of the Tomb Raider for free and keep it forever. But you can also get the adventure game Submerged: Hidden Depths for free in the store. In addition, there is free downloadable content for the Free2Play brawler Knockout City.
The content will be available for free in the Epic Games Store from 1 to 8 September. If you grab the games during this period, they will be yours permanently.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the furious finale of the Lara Croft reboot trilogy and a real action thriller. But what exactly is it about?
After the events of Tomb Raider and Rise of the Tomb Raider, Lara Croft has triggered the apocalypse and damned the whole world through her rash and revenge-driven actions. And now she has to pick up the pieces.
Even more than its reboot predecessors, Shadow of the Tomb Raider plays with big emotions and a new look at the well-known action heroine. But in addition to the thrilling story, you can also expect plenty of action, puzzles, exploration and sneaking passages.
For whom is it worth downloading?
You can get Shadow of the Tomb Raider in the Definitive Edition for free, including all seven DLCs and all additional weapons, outfits and abilities.
In our GlobalESportNews test, Shadow of the Tomb Raider scored a whopping 91 points and a Platinum Award. So you can absolutely treat yourself to a 30-40 hour action blockbuster like this for free. But don”t be surprised: You may already have Shadow of the Tomb Raider in your Epic library, because the game has already been given away there.
If you missed the first two parts, Shadow of the Tomb Raider still offers very good entertainment. Even though you might not understand some of the talk about the Trinity Order – it doesn”t make the action any less fun.
What to expect in Submerged: Hidden Depths
The second free game, on the other hand, falls more into the category of insider tip. The adventure game Submerged: Hidden Depths is the sequel to Submerged and lets you discover a sunken world full of ruins. You get a classic exploration adventure in which you move through the lovingly designed world on foot or by boat.
Submerged: Hidden Depths doesn”t rely on combat or overly complicated puzzles, but aims to offer a fully relaxing experience.
For whom is it worth downloading?
While the first part Submerged turned out to be quite a disappointment in our review, earning just 30 points for repetitive gameplay and a lame story, and only managing a score of 56 on Metacritic, the second part Submerged: Hidden Depths seems to have learned a thing or two. It still managed a console rating of 72 on Metacritic. On Steam, players rate the title “very positively”.
If you are looking for challenging puzzles or action, you are still not well served here. For a relaxing experience with beautiful music, however, Submerged: Hidden Depths is worth the free download.
