New game giveaways: shooter and simulator fans are being offered Mothergunship and Train Sim World 2 for free by the Epic Store this week.
Epic is giving away two games this week: Mothergunship and Train Sim World 2 are available for free download to Epic account holders. The former is a roguelike shooter from a first-person perspective, the latter a simulation for railway enthusiasts that lets you control ICE and Co. yourself
How long is the offer valid? You can grab Mothergunship and Train Sim World 2 for free from 29 July to 5 August 2021 at 5pm each day. If you secure the games, you get to keep them permanently.
But time is a rare commodity: Therefore, as every week, we clarify here what the two games are about and which types of players should take a closer look.
Mothergunship
(Genre: Bullet-Hell Shooter Developer: Grip Digital, Terrible Posture Games Release: 17 July 2018)
What kind of game is Mothergunship? Roguelike, first-person shooter and bullet hell is a combination that rarely comes together. In Epic’s first gift, Mothergunship, it happens! You build completely over-the-top weapons, combining machine guns with flame and rocket launchers. With these, you conquer the earth from robot aliens and giant bosses that cover the entire screen with massive projectiles. Between each playthrough, you’ll be able to upgrade your guns.
For whom? Players who enjoy breathless action and over-the-top visuals should take a look at Mothergunship. On Steam, the first-person shooter receives 80 per cent positive reviews from users.
Train Sim World 2
(Genre: Train Driver Simulation Developer: Dovetail Games Release: 20 August 2020)
What kind of game is Train Sim World 2? A simulation for friends of rail awaits you with the second Epic gift of the week. In Train Sim World 2, you control an ICE train from Cologne through Germany, transport goods in the USA or simply create your own scenario. Simulator fans get to control the acceleration and braking of the train, among other things, and have to cope with simulated driving physics.
Suitable for whom? Anyone who has always wanted to control a train themselves will find the right game in Train Sim World 2. Of course, it takes some training before you understand all the simulation aspects and can implement them properly. On Steam, 83 percent of the reviewers are convinced.
