The Epic Games Store has an iconic co-op game and a strategy RPG secret this week. We tell you who they”re worth buying for.
Groovy, baby! It”s Thursday again and you know what that means: There are new free games for you in the Epic Games Store! This time there”s a multiplayer title in the popular Evil Dead universe as well as a strategy role-playing game reminiscent of the Fire Emblem series on Nintendo consoles.
As always, if you secure the games by 5pm next Thursday (24 November), you”ll get to keep them forever.
Evil Dead: The Game
Fans of cult 80s horror films will get their money”s worth with Evil Dead: The Game. In this asymmetrical multiplayer title, whose gameplay is somewhat reminiscent of Dead by Daylight, you slip into the role of the groovy Ash Williams and his companions. Those who have seen films like Dance of the Devils or Army of Darkness can look forward to a reunion.
The group of four survivors must first assemble and ultimately destroy the Necronomicon, the Book of the Dead. A fifth player slips into the role of the demon and must try to prevent this.
To do this, he can place traps, summon undead servants or even take possession of the other players. From our own experience we can tell you: there is nothing better than controlling a particularly well-equipped opponent and shooting his valuable ammunition into his friends!
So if you enjoy co-op action titles, like to spoil other players” soup single-handedly or are a fan of Dead by Daylight – definitely take a look.

Dark Deity
Do you know Fire Emblem? The strategy RPG series has been a huge hit on the various Nintendo consoles for decades, combining tactical battles with an exciting anime story.
Unfortunately, none of the titles are available for the PC – but that”s where Dark Deity comes in. The game is not only somewhat reminiscent of the great role model, but is a downright homage. Here you also experience a fantasy story in which you control a group of four military cadets and have to survive in a world plagued by war.
In the course of the campaign, you can meet up to 30 other playable characters, take them into your group, train them and equip them with hundreds of weapons and spells. However, if one of your warriors falls in battle, they will suffer permanent injuries and lose status values.
If you like round-robin tactics games like XCOM, don”t shy away from challenging battles and don”t mind pixel or anime visuals, the single-player fans among you could really have many hours of fun with Dark Deity.
