This week, you can pick up two pretty adventures for free at the Epic Games Store. We give you a brief introduction to the two titles.
After there was only one game for free last week, this time you can pick up two games for free at the Epic Games Store again. The only requirement is an Epic account. We introduce you to the two adventures, and tell you for whom they might be worthwhile.
Out of Line
(Genre: Plattformer – Release:June 2021 – Developer:Nerd Monkeys)
Out of Line is a 2D platformer in which you play the boy San. He tries to escape from a factory that was once his home. Along the way, he not only has to overcome numerous obstacles and solve puzzles, but is also threatened by malicious machines. During his journey, San also encounters some extraordinary characters
Suitable for whom? If you enjoy the hand-drawn backgrounds of 2D adventures, and also like to play something shorter (5 to 10 hours), then you probably won’t go wrong with Out of Line. The puzzles get more complicated later on, but never particularly difficult. On Steam, the game only has about 100 reviews, but of those, at least (85 percent are positive)
The Forest Quartet
(Genre: Puzzle game – Release:December 2022 – Developer:Mads & Friends)
You will also have to solve various puzzles in The Forest Quartet, but in 3D and without a platformer part. The game tells the story of a deceased singer, as whose ghost you visit your former band members. You experience their emotions and symbolically help them get over their grief. You sing, create light, and transform into butterflies to solve the mysteries.
Suitable for whom? The Forest Quartet is also a very short game (2-3 hours) that tells an emotional story. The relaxing gameplay is accompanied by jazz music composed for the game. The only about 70 reviews on Steam turn out to be (92 percent positive) praising especially the story, soundtrack and atmosphere.
