Have you always wanted to try out Pokémon or something similar on PC? A new part of Temtem now gives you the chance to do so for free
Imagine peeling a peach: not only the skin, but also some of the inside falls victim to your knife. All that’s left behind is the pit. Voila: We have (Temtem: Showdown). The recently released title about small monsters fighting with each other is in fact a steamed-up spin-off of its big( MMO-brother Temtem). You don’t have to pay for it or own the main game. Showdown is a standalone and free.
Big brother Temtem has been thrilling thousands since its Early Access launch and also did very well in our EA review. In the meantime, the title has also been released regularly and around 84 percent of all 30,000 user reviews on Steam are positive.
What is Temtem: Showdown?
You get the creature battles from Temtem here for free. Everything else there is to do in the main game is omitted. You can’t catch creatures and you can’t run around in the world. Whether this is an advantage or a disadvantage in your eyes is up to you.
If you simply want to have some snappy Pokémon-style creature battles, this is the place to be. It’s all about assembling temtem teams and engaging in exciting 2vs2 duels with other players.
Aside from training battles (against randomly selected or self-determined human opponents), the title also offers ranking lists on which you can win your way up.
Developer Crema promises to provide variety with regular updates. He also says that every few months a new season will be launched, introducing new elements.
Pocket control! How many small, innocent, but sometimes very bitey beasts do you have hidden in your backpacks? Are you fans of Pokémon or Temtem, or even both? Do you think the MMO spinoff is a good entry point for newcomers or does it painfully lose a lot of the title’s own gameplay? Feel free to write us your opinions and thoughts behind it in the comments!
