A One Piece-inspired role-playing game just overtook all games on Steam.
By now, each of you should have at least heard of Roblox. On this platform, developers can publish their own games, which are then played for free, especially by children. A free role-playing game there just makes every game on Steam look old – at least in terms of player numbers.
This game is played by millions
What kind of game is this? The game that can be proud of just about 1.3 million active players at the same time is called (Blox Fruits) – yes, an absolutely generic name that also has precious little to do with the actual game. Counter-Strike 2 is close behind with a daily high of (around 1.23 million players)
In this title, players also have to collect the eponymous fruits to become stronger, but it is actually a kind of pirate role-playing game that was very much inspired by the successful anime and manga series One Piece . Originally, the game was even called Blox Piece, but changed its name some time ago to avoid legal consequences.
You can see how absurd the fights look in action here:
The game is not completely free though, like any other big Roblox game there’s a Ingame Shop where bonuses like double money, double boss drops or faster boats are sold for the premium currency Robux.
Absurd player numbers: If you think that 1.3 million simultaneous players is already a lot, you should take a look at the Roblox homepage of the title. The Achievement Second Sea
was reached by 29,659,297 players. However, this nearly 27 million is said to be only 0.4 percent of all accounts that have ever launched Blox Fruits.
If you calculate a little, you come to around 7.4 billion accounts – so almost as many as there are people on earth. Even though there are guaranteed to be countless multiple accounts here, since Roblox is also a small cheater’s paradise, these are still extremely impressive figures.
