Developer 11 Bit Studios is sticking to the release window in the first half of 2024 but there is no concrete date yet.

Xbox players also have the option of playing the console version via the Game Pass subscription. Frostpunk 2 will however also be released for the PS5, a release date is not yet known for either platform.

The trailer itself is dystopian and desperate as usual:

A special feature of the trailer: The voices of the townspeople who ask the player for help and insult him. Although it is not yet clear whether it is a feature in the game or was only recorded for the trailer, the developers should urgently think about it

In the comments under the YouTube video, people’s reactions are very well received and for many contribute to the successful atmosphere.

What makes the sequel different?

In fact, the developers want to retain the core of the successful predecessor. However, in Frostpunk 2 you will have to take care of a much larger city in which you can assign entire districts to a specific purpose such as science or industry.

You also have a city councilto help you manage the colony’s affairs. Much more diplomatic skill is required to control the city’s factions. Frostpoint 2 presents you with new types of problems, which are also triggered by social differences

About 30 years after the events of the first part, it is no longer about survival, but also about the formation of a society and human ambition to shape it.
