With Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, one of the best beat’em-ups from the world of the Turtles was released last year. At gamescom, the new DLC was available for testing before its release.
Whoever has been able to hold a controller and call an SNES their own since the early 90s has most likely played Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time, which is still extremely popular today. To this day, the title is one of the best that the beat’em-up genre has to offer.
With Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, a spiritual successor was released last year that was highly praised by both the community and the trade press. For this, the official DLC, which introduces new game modes as well as characters, will be released in a few days.
Familiar Faces
While there are already seven different characters to choose from in the base game, the roster is now being expanded by two more. On the one hand, Karai is entering the game. This first appeared back in 1992 as part of the comic series, but was later picked up for other media, most notably the 2003 version of the Turtles series. Ronin bunny Usagi Yojimbo, on the other hand, has been around even longer and made his first appearance in the 80s.
In addition to the two characters, there is a survival mode in which the players have to collect crystals in order to progress in the levels. There are also visual adjustments, such as different colour palettes and much more. The survival mode is especially worthwhile for all those who want to experience more action with the four turtles, but have already beaten up everything and everyone in the main game.
TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge – Dimension Shellshock will be released for all current platforms on 31 August as a paid DLC.
