Experts and scientists are already racking their brains over the next big technological innovation. What could we expect in the gaming scene?

Every year, more and more people discover the gaming trend as a hobby for themselves. First with the first gaming console and later with the ever-popular gaming PC. For a few years now, we have been increasingly inundated with new developments. Be it cloud gaming, VR and AR technologies or even NFTs. But what awaits us in the future?

Gaming when and where you want

With the increasing growth of the mobile gaming industry, the issue of portability is also coming to the fore. Those who gamble on their mobile phone or tablet want to do so not only at home, but also while travelling on the public bus or a long train journey

Today, the mobile network and the internet connection that comes with it very often throws a spanner in the works. Those who find themselves in a dead zone or don”t have the wherewithal for a 5G contract face problems here.

According to Telekom forecasts, almost the entire population will be equipped with 5G by 2025. With a bit of luck, we may soon have a borderless network for location-independent online gaming.

Dive into virtual worlds

Creating a more immersive gaming experience is already high on the agenda for many developers. Players should feel at home in the virtual world. As a basis for this, VR and AR technologies in particular are taking centre stage, making it possible to dive very deeply into an alternative adventure.

Virtual city tours or trips abroad are already possible. This technology will continue to be the focus and be expanded in the future. Soon, other fields of application such as sports, education or healthcare could also benefit from it.

VR offers have not yet gone down well with the average consumer. The reason for this is the high price of glasses like the Oculus Quest or the HTC Vive. However, if more people are given access to the technology in the future by adapting them, a trend could develop again.

Cloud gaming – A sensible alternative?

As the successor to classic gaming, cloud gaming is also highly traded in the future forecasts of the experts. Especially the flexibility and freedom that such a system could offer makes some parts of the community confident.

With cloud gaming, all your favourite games are collected in a central system. You can access them with different devices from anywhere. Your game progress is stored centrally and is not tied to a data carrier. Furthermore, you can save yourself the tedious installation process in the future.

Although the system currently still has its problems, it should be able to completely replace the gaming PC in the future. This way, you won”t need expensive hardware anymore and will have flexible access to the game of your choice. With more offerings and a little fine-tuning, cloud gaming could revolutionise the gaming world in the next few years.
