Nvidia is finally getting officially more concrete: None other than CEO Jensen Huang has made it clear in a conversation with analysts and investors when RTX 4000 will be unveiled.

Update, September 8: The official (Twitter channel of Geforce graphics cards) is now also drawing attention to the new RTX 4000 generation. A short teaser clip was published there under the hashtag ProjectBeyond

Apart from the green-blue-yellow lines and the hashtag, there is not much to see. Nevertheless, the clip makes it clear that we are making great strides towards the official unveiling, which is expected to take place at Nvidia’s GTC trade show on 20 September (more on this in the original article below).

The video is simultaneously causing not only anticipation, but also sarcastic comments. With the catchphrase Beyond, Nvidia, however, also provides an easily exploitable slogan, as the following small selection shows:

  • Beyond my budget and for the shopping trolleys of the scalpers
  • Beyond players and directly to miners
  • Beyond the capacities of my power supply
  • Beyond ‘Overpriced’. Or maybe beyond a release in 2022

But at their core, the comments address many of the crucial questions, such as how expensive, how readily available and how power-hungry the new cards will be. Let’s hope that we will finally know in one or two months at the latest.

Original article, August 28: For a long time, there were no official statements from Nvidia on the unveiling of the new Ada-Lovelace architecture and the upcoming RTX-4000 generation of Geforce graphics cards. With the latest investor talk on the latest business figures, that has finally changed.

In the gaming segment, Nvidia saw significant declines in both revenue and profit, not surprising in the wake of falling demand and prices for some time. In the wake of this, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang let slip the following, among other things:

In gaming, our partners and ecosystem are responding to a sudden slowdown in consumer demand and correcting channel inventory. However, the fundamentals are strong. We will get through this in the coming months and move into next year with our new architecture. I look forward to telling you more about it at GTC next month

The GPU Technology Conference, or GTC, is an event hosted by Nvidia itself, which has most recently taken place mostly in the spring and with a focus on artificial intelligence. This year, however, based on Huang’s current statements, it can also be assumed that Nvidia will use GTC 2022 for the official unveiling of RTX 4000.

When exactly will the unveiling take place?

Huang usually doesn’t miss the opportunity to introduce new GPU generations himself and he will also present the GTC 2022 keynote. It will take place in a little more than three weeks, on Tuesday, 20 September at 5 p.m.

While the official description only says in very general terms Take a closer look at the breakthrough technologies that will help us tackle the world’s biggest challenges. Huang gets a bit more specific at the end of the investor talk and also addresses RTX graphics cards:

I’m looking forward to next month’s GTC conference, where we’ll unveil new advances from RTX that reinvent 3D graphics and gaming, the ongoing breakthroughs of AI, and building the metaverse, the next evolution of the internet

While this largely ensures that there will finally be official information on RTX 4000 soon. However, it remains unclear how specific Nvidia will be at the keynote in terms of release plans and pricing.

How do you assess the situation? Will Nvidia really only launch one new graphics card this year and postpone the release of the other models until next year? Or will there be several RTX 4000 models on the market in 2023? Feel free to post it in the comments!
