IllFonic has announced the release date of Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed. In October, we can dive into the world of the cult franchise as ghostbusters and spirits.
In March IllFonic had announced the asynchronous multiplayer. Now there is finally a release date. From 18 October Ghostbuster: Spirits Unleashed awaits you on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
Up to four ghost hunters fight a ghost and try to catch it on different maps, like the museum or an abandoned prison. To do this, they use various gadgets like the P.K.E. Meter to restrict the ghost’s movements. They can also locate Rifts which the ghost uses as teleportation locations and spawn points.
The ghost must stand alone against the Ghostbusters and fill up his spook level. He does this by scaring civilians and taking possession of objects. This way he can summon smaller helpers, move rifts and cover the ghost hunters with a good portion of slime that shocks them for a short time.
Apart from the ghost hunting missions, in Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed you can explore the Fire Station which serves as your base. Before you set off on new missions, you can meet old and new characters here. You can also customise your equipment at the workbench and try out the new upgrades in the neighbouring alley. At Ray’s Occult Books you can enter the spectral world, allowing you to choose new skins and change the appearance of your mind.
During this year’s Gamescom, IllFonic will also be unveiling another map for Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed. Until then, you can watch the latest gameplay video for the fun multiplayer. Pre-orders are now open.
