God of War Ragnarok was supposed to be released on November 9. But now numerous clips, screenshots and gameplay impressions are flooding the net. The reason for this is a shop in the USA that already started selling the eagerly awaited game at the weekend.

For most PlayStation gamers, it’s probably THE game of the year. Arguably no other title is as sought after in the second half of the year as God of War Ragnarok. Those who want to play the title on its official release date on 9 November should scroll through the net with great care in the coming days. Because since the weekend, spoilers of all kinds have been swarming on the most diverse platforms.

As reported by (Kotaku), a shop in the USA seems to have “accidentally” started selling the game almost two weeks  before the official release date. Impatient fans probably couldn’t resist and wanted to be among the first to share their impressions on the net.
Game Director Cory Barlog is disappointed about this behaviour and explains in a (Twitter-Statement): You know, right now I can really understand the advantage of having only one installer on the physical disc. A seller selling the game TWO WEEKS before release. So disappointing.

Santa Monica Studio also speaks out as a united unit on (Twitter) and expresses its disappointment about the current situation in a statement. At the same time, they call on the public to stop sharing spoilers. Instead, they ask the community members to be patient until the actual release date and promise that the wait will be worth it.

If you want to experience God of War Ragnarok spoiler-free, it’s best to avoid the topic until the official release. As Santa Monica Studio reports, they are also working to delete unwanted material as quickly as possible.

Earlier this year, a similar case occurred with a premature sale of Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
