With an estimated budget of just 10-15 million dollars, the film took in over 116 million dollars worldwide (via BoxOfficeMojo).
The work convinced fans and landed on Rotten Tomatoes with an audience score of 98 percent, a direct hit. The 205 reviews from critics even came to 99 percent.
