Those who want to protect Gotham from the Council of Owls won’t have to wait too much longer. Warner Bros. Games confirmed yesterday that Gotham Knights will be released this fall.

Fans of the Bat-Family have reason to anticipate. After Warner Media CEO Jason Kilar confirmed this year’s release of Gotham Knights at the end of January, an official release date finally followed yesterday. On 25 October 2022, the action-packed comic book adaptation will be released for PC, Xbox and PlayStation.

Two crime fighting light figures have lost their lives. After GCPD Commissoner Jim Gordon passes away, Bruce Wayne also dies in an explosion some time later. Gotham City now threatens to be brought to its knees for good by corrupt police officers and criminals who have become bold. But there is hope – in the form of the remaining members of the Bat-family. Now it’s up to Nightwing, Batgirl, Red Hood and Robin to go on patrol and take down Batman’s dreaded enemies.

In Gotham Knights, the open world of a troubled city lies at your feet. Patrol the streets of Gotham alone or with friends, confront small-time and big-time criminals alike, and finally unravel the mystery of the mysterious Council of Owls. Fans of the Arkham trilogy can look forward to similar gameplay with lots of combat and exploration, while putting the experience gained into equipment and ability improvements. This means that the action RPG actually has all the prerequisites for epic gameplay in Batman style… only without Batman.

We can find out for ourselves at the end of October whether Gotham Knights lives up to these expectations.
