Greedfall 2: The Dying World will be a prequel to the RPG secret tip. The release period in which it will appear is now known – initially as Early Access

Greedfall is getting a sequel prequel, which appeared at Nacon Connect on February 29 with another trailer. It not only reveals more about the setting, but also the planned release timeframe.

Exciting: Greedfall 2 will initially be released as Early Access. Quite unusual for a single-player role-playing game, even if Baldur’s Gate 3 has already shown the way.

Here you can see the video in which the colonists and natives of Tar Fradee clash again:

What we know about the upcoming role-playing game

Release: Greedfall 2 will be released on Steam as early as summer 2024, but first as Early Access. It is not yet clear how much of the final content will be included in this version and how long it will take until the final release. The game will be released on consoles (PS5 and Xbox X/S) at an undisclosed later date.

Story and Setting: The story takes place three years before the events of Greedfall, this time you play as a native who is captured by the colonists. And that’s not all, the land is also threatened by the mysterious Malichor plague (which you may already know from part 1). The setting is once again a mix of alternative 17th century and fantasy elements.

Gameplay: No game scenes from Greedfall 2 have been shown yet. At Nacon Connect, however, the developers did talk a little more about how the game will differ from its predecessor. For example, by making group battles more tactical. You should really feel like you are not only controlling your own character, but also all up to three companions.

Fight, sneak or diplomatic approach? You decide on your exact approach, but your choice will always have consequences. You’ll also have to deal with various factions that pursue very different goals.

More information on Greedfall 2: The Dying World will be released in the near future. Presumably some of the possible companions will be introduced and we hope to see the first gameplay soon. It would also be exciting to find out why developer Spiders has decided on Early Access and what scope it contains. We’ll keep you up to date!
