Codemasters wants to conquer the racing game throne with Grid Legends. A lavishly staged story, for which film technology from The Mandalorian was used, is supposed to help with this.

Just recently publisher Electronic Arts bought the racing game specialists from Codemasters – and today there was already the next new game under the EA flag to see after F1 2021. Right at the beginning of EA Play, a new offshoot of the popular racing series, Grid Legends, was announced.

All the important information you need to know about Grid Legends can be found in this article.

What to expect in Grid Legends

The last Grid for the time being could only convince to a limited extent in 2019, because despite a good driving experience and lush scope, the title offered far too few new ideas. But that is now to change with Grid Legends.

Elaborate story: The big flagship is supposed to be an elaborately staged story. In the story, you play an underdog who takes on the all-powerful racing team Ravenwest Motorsport on his way to victory in the Grid World Series.

The highlight is supposed to be the cutscenes in which real actors are seen in front of virtual backgrounds – so they are not motion-capture recordings. For this purpose, the so-called extended reality technology was used, which also provided impressive immersion in the Star Wars series The Mandalorian. Among others, the British actor Ncuti Gatwa, who became known through the Netflix series Sex Education, is involved.
