With sporty hardware and elaborate shaders, GTA 5 looks even better in 2021 despite good graphics. This is shown in the latest video from Digital Dreams.
Of course, GTA 5 is already a few years old. But in direct comparison with many modern titles, the Rockstar title is still something to behold. Maybe not necessarily because of the impressive graphics, but because of the outrageously high level of detail in the open game world.
How GTA 5 looks in 8K and with ray tracing
The latest video from the YouTube channel Digital Dreams shows that the graphics of Grand Theft Auto 5 can still be used a lot today. Their videos are known for making video games shine in new splendour, 4K or even 8K and with ray tracing with the help of elaborate mods – such as The Witcher 3, the Gothic remake or Kingdom Come: Deliverance, you know the game.
Now Digital Dreams is taking another look at GTA 5 and – what else can you say – the end result looks simply fantastic thanks to 8K and ray tracing. In the following video, the most impressive features are the elaborate weather effects, the realistic play of light and shadow, spectacular edge smoothing and … oh, just have a look yourself:
And yes, you probably won’t be able to watch the video in its best quality. After all, your screen has to be able to display 8K in the first place and then the high data volume also plays a role. So you’ll need a decent PC with a fast CPU and graphics card, as well as a media player that can handle it.
Your GTA 5 can look just like this – for a price
However, you can also try your hand at running your own GTA 5 in 8K with ray tracing – if you dare. As usual, Digital Dreams lists transparently in the video description what mods and shaders are used.
In contrast to many previous mods, these are all available for a fee, as they are only accessible via Patreon pages, which require a donation or subscription. If you are interested, just have a look at the corresponding Patreons of Digital Dreams, Nb.Design and Razed.
Digital Dreams also states which PC hardware was used for the video – and of course it’s not bad:
– Mainboard: Asus Prime x470-Pro
– CPU: Ryzen 3900x with 4.5 Ghz on all cores
– RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32 GB
– GPU: Asus TUF RTX3090 @2100mhz
– SSD: Crucial mx500 2TB
– HDD: Seagate Barracuda 4TB
– CPU-Cooling: Corsair Hydro H100x
By the way, the NextGen version of GTA 5 will be released on 11 November 2021, which should also benefit PC players. This should shorten the waiting time for GTA 6, which insiders do not expect before 2024/25.
