With GTA Online, it’s as good as always: after the update is before the next update. That’s why after Los Santos Tuners, many players may already be wondering what Rockstar has planned for the upcoming expansion.
Established insider Tez2 could now provide the first information. According to him, there are currently hints in GTA Online about what Rockstar has planned. And it seems that nightclubs and especially music will play a role in it.

What the new GTA Online update might deliver
Nightclubs where missions take place: Until now, nightclubs in GTA Online took a rather passive role, as they only served as social hubs or cover for your illegal activities. That could change with the next update.
According to Tez2, there are now new, previously unused variables in GTA that allow “real” missions such as missions to take place in nightclubs. So that, for example, we invade the nightclub of an enemy gang in order to steal something or to shoot everything and everyone over the head.
It is possible that each club looks different or is filled differently – which is not necessarily something new. Those who own their own nightclub in GTA Online can choose between different furnishing styles, dancers, lighting and the like. These clubs were added to GTA Online with the 2018 After Hours Update.
There are new unused variables that provide functionality for Nightclubs to work within a mission environment like contracts.

Why music is becoming (even) more important: That nightclubs will soon play a bigger role in the future of GTA Online is not too surprising, according to Tez2. After all, Rockstar Games only founded an in-house music label in May 2021.
Music released via CircoLoco already played a small role in Los Santos Tuners: Players could, for example, find various media sticks and listen to music from CircoLoco with them. Among them are artists such as Moodymann, Rampa or Red Axes.
Nothing has been officially confirmed yet. Accordingly, you should take the information shared by Tez2 with a grain of salt for the time being. Even if nightclubs play a role in a new update for GTA Online, it could turn out to be quite small in the end. It cannot be ruled out that clubs, for example, only serve as a backdrop for certain missions.
When will the next update for GTA Online be released? A new content update for GTA Online is currently not officially announced. However, previous release samples suggest that it should be in winter 2021 at the latest.
What does the future hold for GTA Online?
On November 11, 2021, the NextGen version of GTA 5 will be released and in parallel a standalone version of GTA Online. Among other things, players should benefit from the fact that higher speeds for vehicles will be possible thanks to Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X technology.
Fans should also make a note of October: This year GTA 3 celebrates its 20th anniversary, which according to Rockstar will also be celebrated in GTA Online. There are no concrete details about this at the moment. Rumour has it that apart from this, a GTA Remaster Trilogy will be released, which will let GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas shine in graphics polished up by the Unreal Engine.
