After the surprising launch of the long-awaited game on Steam, the developers are also presenting the plan for what’s to come next

After more than three years of development, Hades 2 was surprisingly released in Early Access on Steam on May 6, 2024. The user reviews are certainly already a great success for the development team. But of course they still have a lot of work to do before the game is released in its 1.0 version.

Supergiant Games has already published the first roadmap – as part of the game itself. If you start Hades 2, you will find the corresponding message in the main menu.

This is coming in the next few months

The roadmap shows how the action role-playing game is set to continue in the foreseeable future:

  • The first major update is planned by Supergiant Games for 2024, a few months after the start of Early Access.
  • Early Access is scheduled to run until at least the end of 2024 When version 1.0 will be released is not yet foreseeable and depends on how the game develops.

These features have high priority

In addition, there are currently features that the developers are working on with high priority:

New explorable region: This is a new area that will contain more “characters, enemies and other surprises”. This region is expected to be released at a later date in 2024, i.e. probably in the first major update.

Update of the crossroads: A new system will be used to beautify the crossroads. There are no details yet.

New main weapon: This should bring new weapon aspects. Here, too, the developers are not yet revealing their cards:

Other features: In addition, the story is to be continued, more music and artwork added and the existing game further expanded and optimized.

Supergiant Games relies on feedback from the community

In this context, the developers expressly point out that Hades 2 is still in development and that parts of the game still need to be changed or improved accordinglyThis means that unfinished graphics, bugs or balance problems could occur

The developers are still planning to incorporate new features, changes and improvements into the game. According to Supergiant Games, player feedback is an important factor in this:

We could never have developed the first Hades without the continuous feedback from our community – so it’s very important to us to keep this process going with the second game.

Other parts of the roadmap state that fan ideas will likely play a role:

We obviously have a plan for the remaining content of the game, but this launch was a big part of that. Depending on how the game evolves and what our community thinks of it, it will take us shorter or longer to get there
