Halo is probably one of the most famous game series in the first-person shooter scene. Now a live-action film adaptation is coming out in the form of a live-action series called “Halo”. We have summarised all the important information about the plot, reviews and release for you.
What is the story of the Halo series?
The Halo series deals with the conflict between the United Nations Space Command (UNSC) and the alien Covenant Alliance that is already familiar from the games, but tells a stand-alone story.
In the 26th century, humanity is spreading across the universe, but a civil war and the Alliance threaten the existence of the settlements. In response, the UNSC sends super-soldiers called Spartans into battle – among them the Master Chief, who blindly follows the UNSC’s orders. But when he comes across a mysterious artefact, everything suddenly changes.
When and where will the series come out?
the first season of “Halo” will be available on Sky, Sky Ticket and SkyQ from 24 March. The series comprises a total of nine episodes. A sequel has already been announced.
To coincide with the launch of “Halo”, you can secure a 50% discount on Sky Ticket. The offer is only valid for new customers aged 18 and over who book the entertainment ticket in the period from 21 March to 10 April. The duration is at least 6 months.
Who is playing?
Originally, the film adaptation was supposed to be released in 2015. However, Steven Spielberg’s production kept getting held up in development, so everything was delayed. Nevertheless, the Halo series will now be released with Pablo Schreiber (Amercian Gods/ Going to the Moon) as Master Chief and Jen Taylor as Cortana. Taylor previously worked on the Halo video games as the voice actress for Cortana.
What are the reviews saying?
The international trade press has already been able to see a few episodes of “Halo”. However, the reviews have been mixed so far. On (Metacritic) the series currently has an average score of 63.
Above all, critics complain that the series wavers between fan service and new ideas. The story is said to have good beginnings, but is also described as generic. The character of the Master Chief is usually singled out for praise. His portrayal by Pablo Schreiber and his character drawing obviously make you want more.
You can see how the new series about the Master Chief actually fares from 24 March on Sky.
