Over the last few months Xbox has already released several for the PlayStation. Now it seems that Sony is returning the favor. As journalist Nick “Shpeshal Nick” Baker reports in the XboxEra Podcast talks about various Xbox releases appear to have started. Among other things, the third-person shooter Helldivers 2 is being discussed.
As the talks are still at an early stage, however, nothing too concrete can be said. That is why Baker does not want to commit himself and make any false promises to the community
It is not too unlikely that Helldivers 2 will be released for the Xbox. After all, the shooter is a third-party title with PlayStation only acting as publisher. This means that PlayStation decides on which platforms the title is released. But since the shooter is not a prestigious brand like, for example, God of War , an Xbox release seems quite realistic.
Xbox titles sell well on the PlayStation
The fact that both companies can benefit from cross-platform sales is shown by the top 25 best-selling games in the PlayStation Store at the moment. According to Jon “_sikamikanico_” Clarke there are currently more Microsoft-owned titles in this list than PlayStation-owned titles. Excluding Call of Duty and Overwatch 2, this list includes titles such as Sea of Thieves, Fallout 4, Minecraft, Fallout 76 and Grounded.
This can of course be explained by the fact that many gamers want to catch up on the “missed” games. However, this list basically shows the potential for PlayStation titles to perform just as successfully on the Xbox.
Only time will tell if these speculations about Helldivers 2 come true.
