Amazon’s series adaptation of Warhammer 40K is finally getting off the ground. Henry Cavill is once again emphasizing that he is passionate about this project of his heart.

Anyone who knows Henry Cavill is aware that the 41-year-old actor is a huge fan of Warhammer 40K. The former Witcher and Superman actor is now officially able to live out this passion in a series adaptation of the massive sci-fi universe.

The perfect starting point for Warhammer 40K as a series

After Amazon’s planned adaptation was on the brink of cancellation, the project has recently been officially given the green light. And this news was celebrated by Henry Cavill himself, who is involved in the filming of Warhammer 40K both in front of and behind the camera.

On his Instagram, Cavill shares a passionate message to assure fans that Warhammer 40K is in good hands:

…] I’m working with my incredible team and the brilliant minds at Games Workshop to meticulously break down how we approach the enormity and splendor of Warhammer.

Together, we’re wading through the sheer volume of incredible characters and poring over ancient tomes and their lyrics. Our combined forces have given us a fantastic starting point from which to kick off our universe – even the leaders of Amazon and Games Workshop agree on that.

When exactly it will start is to remain a secret for now. But keep an eye on the horizon – more will be revealed in due course.

As you can see, Cavill’s update does not reveal any specific information. For example, it remains unclear when the Warhammer 40K TV series will start, who is responsible for the project as showrunner, who the cast is and what the story is about.

But at least one thing is certain: Cavill’s series project is just the beginning. Amazon and Games Workshop want to establish an entire Warhammer 40K universe on Prime Video.

By the way: Warhammer 40K is not the only sci-fi project for Amazon that Henry Cavill is involved in. The company is also working on a live-action adaptation of the classic anime Voltron, for which Cavill is in front of the camera.

In addition, there is of course still the Highlander reboot by director Chad Stahelski (John Wick) to look forward to, which is set to kick off a new franchise in 2026. So Cavill is not running out of roles after his stint as the Netflix Witcher and big-screen Superman.
