After Superman and The Witcher, Henry Cavill will probably be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, not as Doctor Doom, but possibly as Captain Britain

Henry Cavill has probably snapped up a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The former Superman and Witcher actor is said to have already signed on. At least that’s what an established insider claims to have learned, after rumors had already made the rounds.

Henry Cavill as the new Marvel hero?

Be warned, of course: This is not officially confirmed at this time! The Marvel scooper MyTimeToShineHello announced on X (formerly Twitter) that Cavill will be joining the MCU. After fans speculated that Cavill might appear in Fantastic Four as Doctor Doom, the insider chimed in.

According to him, it is no longer possible that Henry Cavill will be recruited as Doctor Doom, as he has already signed up for another Marvel role. MyTimeToShineHello does not reveal which one it will be.

Who Henry Cavill could play in the MCU

But perhaps we already know the answer to this question: back in 2021, Henry Cavill revealed in an interview with TheHollywoodReporter that he would like to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Captain Britain . Similar to Captain America, Cavill could definitely see himself playing a modernized and contemporary version of the character.

In the Marvel comics, several people have played Captain Britain, but the best-known version is likely to be Brian Braddock  – a young scientist recruited as a superhero by the wizard Merlin.

The course for Captain Britain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe would already be set: Eternals confirmed the existence of Merlin in the MCU and Dane Whitman a.k.a. Black Knight (Kit Harington) also embodies a rather mythical part of the movies.

In addition, there have been rumors that Sonya Falsworth (Olivia Colman) from Secret Invasion is founding a British counterpart to the Avengers, which already includes G’iah (Emilia Clarke)

Henry Cavill’s schedule is getting fuller and fuller

Before you get too excited, you should definitely wait for an official confirmation from Disney and Marvel!

So after Argylle Henry Cavill is already appearing in his next action film in April: The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare from director Guy Ritchie. After The Witcher, Cavill has also snapped up a new fantasy franchise, Highlander, with John Wick director Chad Stahelski at the helm.

And then there’s Henry Cavill’s planned film adaptation of Warhammer 40K for Amazon. So the actor has his hands full over the next few years.
