What’s next for DayZ in 2023? The developers behind the survival perennial share a first content roadmap
DayZ is already a few years old, but the survival game will continue to be provided with new content and support in 2023 – this has been officially confirmed by the developers of Bohemia Interactive. But what exactly does the plan for the coming months look like?
DayZ in 2023
This is what the developers are planning: Bohemia Interactive shares (first plans for the year 2023). According to this, the developer will take a slightly different approach in upcoming updates than before. Specifically, this means that new expansions will not consist of a weapon, a feature and bug fixes as before. Instead, Bohemia wants to allow itself more flexibility for the future in order to further exploit the potential of DayZ.
This is what the content plan for 2023 looks like: The official plans for new DayZ content are not too detailed at the moment, but Bohemia is already sharing a bit of info.
- DayZ will continue to be supported by Bohemia in 2023.
- New cosmetic items will play a big part in any upcoming update – but the skins and clothing loot should fit into DayZ’s universe and not take on absurd proportions
- The airfield in the northwest of the Chernarus map (NWAF) is to be reworked and made more realistic
- The zombie AI will get an update which will affect the movement of the undead across the map and battles with the infected
- There will be more options for server management (especially on consoles).
- Firearms will play a less important role in future updates
