Hogwarts Legacy has just been released and already hardworking fans are modding the game to their liking. These are some of the best mods.

Top sellers on Steam, records on Twitch, and good reviews from critics and the community: Hogwarts Legacy can already look back on a successful release week. Of course, not all players are completely happy; after all, we even had to downgrade the test due to technical problems.

But after only a few days, diligent wizards and witches have already released many mods that eliminate annoyances, add features or make your game more beautiful. We present some of the best modifications!

The Elder Wand

Since you can customise your wand in many ways, it is almost surprising that this option is not already included in the game. The Functional Elder Wand mod unsurprisingly makes your wand look like the Elder Wand used by Grindelwald, Albus Dumbledore and Harry Potter many years later. In Hogwarts Legacy, however, the Elder Wand doesn”t make you more powerful, but it does look fancy and can be customised with different grips.

Ascendio – Performance-Boost

At release, Hogwarts Legacy attracted negative attention with its great hardware hunger and occasional FPS drops – you can find out more about this in the above test video. Therefore, several modders try to improve your performance with smaller tweaks and fixes and provide a smoother gaming experience.

The most popular of these mods is called Ascendio and is said to have already helped in some cases.

Reshade Presets

Hogwarts and its surroundings already look quite nice, but sometimes still seem a bit grey and lacking in contrast. Various mods therefore take care of the graphics and adjust contrast, brightness and more. Depending on your taste, there are several options open to you here, but we like Accio Clarity quite a lot!

Arachnophobia Mode

All you want to do is run away screaming at the sight of the giant eight-legged crawlers? Then turn the nasty spiders into fairly unadorned boxes (with no legs at all) with this simple mod. The mod even remembers all the icons you can see the nasty vermin on and banishes their appearance from Hogwarts completely.

Mouse control for brooms

(With Mouse Controls for Broom you control your broom exclusively with the mouse.)

If you enjoy flying your broom but are not too comfortable with the controls, this mod is definitely worth a look. It allows you to control your bristly flying machine with mouse movements in all directions. The original key assignments are also retained.

If you”re already excited about all the clothes you can try on in Hogwarts Legacy, but want a little more choice, take a look at this mod. If you have pre-ordered the game, you can use it to change the look of the Dark Arts robes. We particularly like the house variants, which allow you to show off the colours and crests of your favourite house.

Reset talents

In Hogwarts Legacy, you can learn numerous talents to improve your character. However, you won”t get enough points in the game to unlock every single talent. And if you would have preferred to learn something else, you won”t be able to undo your decisions later on.

However, the mod Talent Reset Potion lets you buy a potion recipe from J. Pippin”s shop in Hogsmead. The potion resets your talent points and lets you redistribute them. Note that the inventory will only show the destroy option. However, you can still take the potion by pressing the button that has been assigned to use it.

Magic with Gestures

You already know all the spells inside out and want to wave your staff as realistically as possible instead of just pressing buttons? Then this mod might be something for you. If you install it, you have to perform the appropriate gestures with your wand in order to cast a spell. This is of course much more difficult than the standard controls, but for some it is a welcome challenge. You also have the advantage of being able to use all available spells at any time.
