Last night Avalanche Software hosted a new showcase for Hogwarts Legacy. This one had new gameplay material ready. However, it also showed how pre-orderers are given preference.

At the beginning of the half-hour Hogwarts Legacy Showcase, the developers invited us to a beautiful broom flight  This showed us the large Open World and how we can explore it at will. Along with this, fans were also able to experience the change of seasons After all, you spend an entire year at the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Of course, the developers at Avalanche Software also took the opportunity to draw attention to the Onyx Hippogriff that pre-orderers will receive.

Further on, the combat techniques you can experiment with in the Dark Arts Battle Arena This arena is located in the Forbidden Forest and is only available to owners of the Dark Arts package. If you own the Deluxe Edition of Hogwarts Legacy, you will automatically have access to it. If you own the standard version, you can buy the pack as well.

Also included in the set is the Thestral as a mount and a corresponding outfit. But don’t panic, there are other arenas that are accessible to all. You can also experiment with your spells there.

In this part of the showcase, not only “normal” spells are shown. The unforgivable curses like Avada Kedavra or Crucio are also used. To stay steadfast, you can take potions and plants from the Room of Wishes.

The Room of Wishes also gives you access to the Vivarium. There you can keep magical animal creatures such as Graphorn, Niffler, Kniesel and a mooncalf. By feeding and petting them, you can obtain magical ingredients. You can use these to customise and even upgrade your equipment. You can also use a toy box to play with the animal creatures. A particularly nice feature: you can even give the animal creatures their own names.

Although the Hogwarts Legacy showcase has plenty of impressive gameplay in store, the active promotion of the Deluxe Edition makes one wonder. We hope that the differences between the Standard and Deluxe Editions don’t make too much of a difference.
