Will the trip to Hogwarts be postponed again? According to an insider, the role-playing game is reportedly struggling with problems, which is why a planned February Reveal could be on the backburner.
Update from 18 January 2022: The rumours about a new postponement have made waves and just yesterday the publisher Warner Bros. indirectly reacted to it on Twitter. Because as part of a series of tweets that present games that are still to be released in 2022, Hogwarts Legacy is also included.

But this does not mean that a postponement is off the table: Fans may now have legitimate hopes that their first school year will start this year after all. However, it would not be the first time that titles have been postponed at short notice despite repeated assurances.
Perhaps Sony’s alleged state-of-play event in February 2022 will bring new insights.
Original message: It doesn’t take a Cruciatus curse to elicit a cry of anguish from aspiring witches and wizards. All it takes is another negative news story surrounding Hogwarts Legacy. For Harry Potter fans have been waiting a very long time for the role-playing game and according to the latest rumours, they will have to exercise further patience yet again.
Release to be delayed again by a year
Source for the new rumour is insider Colin Moriarty, host of the popular PlayStation podcast (Sacred Symbols). Moriarty is usually considered credible and well-informed when it comes to his information, which is why his recent statements do not exactly give hope for a release this year.
In the current podcast episode, he admits to having heard behind the scenes that the game will not be released this year. This leads him to suspect that Hogwarts Legacy is in some kind of trouble, which is why the release keeps getting delayed.
As a reminder, originally developer Portkey Games was aiming for a 2021 release. But back in January 2021, it was postponed by a whole year to 2022. If another school year now falls through, that would be the saddest news imaginable for fans.
New trailer in February at Sony event?
New gameplay could be shown soon: Should Hogwarts Legacy actually not be released until 2023, the developers could at least ensure with fresh gameplay material that they are not punished by the fans with a hefty point deduction. And the chances of this are not bad at all.
As reported by our sister magazine GamePro, among others, Sony is said to be planning a huge edition of their State-of-Play format for February 2022. According to the rumour mill, not only would the launch titles Horizon: Forbidden West or Gran Turismo 7 be shown there, but also a brand new trailer for Hogwarts Legacy.
