Horizon Forbidden West for PC is just a few weeks away. Sony has now announced the features of the PC version
Sony has announced that Aloy will continue her journey on your PC on March 21st Horizon Forbidden West, the sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn, will be released that day on Steam and the Epic Games Store and 60 Euro cost.
In addition, Sony has announced which exclusive PC features the port from Nixxes Software will have
These are the PC features
The information shared gives hope that this will be an extensive PC port. Horizon Forbidden West will support the following PC features:
Free selectable frame rates: It will be possible to set any frame rate limit or play without a limit.
Customizable graphics settings: It would hardly be a PC port if this were not possible.
Upscaling via Nvidia DLSS, AMD FSR or Intel XeSS: The upscaling methods of all three major graphics card manufacturers will be on board. This means that the game can be played at high resolutions even with nominally weaker hardware.
Frame Generation: With DLSS 3, additional frames can be generated, which can make the gaming experience smoother. AMD’s FMF (Fluid Motion Frames) variant is not mentioned. However, as long as the game uses DirectX 11 or 12, it should also work
Optimized controls: The controls have been adapted for mouse and keyboard, although there will of course also be comprehensive controller support. Sony recommends using a DualSense controller for the best immersion, as the adaptive triggers come into their own in Horizon Forbidden West. You can feel the cocking of the bow or the impact of melee attacks
Nvidia DLAA: This is an anti-aliasing technology that makes use of the same technology that DLSS uses. This achieves better picture quality.
DirectStorage: Not many games support DirectStorage yet, but with Horizon Forbidden West another title is being added. This can significantly reduce loading times
Ultrawide support: If you want to visit the forbidden west with a panoramic view, you can also enjoy the game in ultrawide format. The aspect ratios 21:9, 32:9 and even 48:9 are supported. Horizon Forbidden West is also compatible with three monitors
