Behaviour Interactive celebrated the 8th birthday ofDead by Daylightwith a series of exciting announcements. The highlight of theanniversary streamwas an upcomingcross-over with Dungeons & Dragons, which will soon enrich the multiplayer horror with many elements from the pen&paper model.

Vecna is coming to Dead by Daylight

The most exciting reveal was that of the new killer: Vecna, a well-known villain from the world of Dungeons & Dragons, will soon be hunting down survivors in Dead by Daylight. Vecna previously became known to a wider audience through the fourth season of Stranger Things.

Vecna is voiced in the game by the famous Dungeon Master Matthew Mercer (Critical Role) and brings some new game mechanics with him –he can cast spells!Vecna can fly, fire magic projectiles, use the spellMagic Handto instantly restore pallets dropped by survivors and uncover survivors.

The D&D chapter will also come with its own map:This is packed with D&D elements, including treasure chests, the contents of which the survivors must first roll dice to obtain. A critical success can earn players powerful equipment such asVecna’s Handwhile a critical failure can lead to problems.

In addition, two new Survivors join the fight:A human and an elven bard want to be played by you and bring unique abilities, such as creating illusions, helping allies withBardic Inspirationrepairing generators faster and uncovering important objects.

Upcoming Castlevania chapter and 2v8 mode

After the D&D cross-over, Behavior gave a preview of an upcoming Castlevania-style cahpter. Although details are still scarce, fans can look forward to a blood-sucking Dracula and possibly a Belmont survivor. More information will be announced on August 6.

Another highlight is the newSupersize game mode, which will be introduced this summer. In this mode, two killers compete against eight survivors on a larger map. The traditional perk system is replaced by a class system and captured survivors are hung in cages instead of hooks. The initial Killer roster includes Trapper, Wraith, Hillbilly, Huntress and Nurse, with more details to be announced here in July.

Finally, Behavior also presented several new projects and updates in the stream:
