At the Nintendo Direct, a new Hyrule Warriors was announced, which this time is supposed to tell the story of Tears of the Kingdom.
Like Zelda: Breath of the Wild, its sequel Tears of the Kingdom will now also have a spin-off that tells the story of the acclaimed role-playing game. It is once again part of the Hyrule Warriors series and is therefore more of an action-packed hack n’ slay than a classic role-playing game.
In terms of gameplay, it is much more reminiscent of games like Dynasty Warriors, in which you take on hordes of enemies with a variety of characters. The games stage epic battles with lots of spectacle and therefore have a completely different tone to the main Zelda games.
Hyrule Warriors: Sealed Away will be released in winter 2025, exclusively for the Switch 2.
This is what Sealed Away is about
As mentioned, the game is a prequel to Tears of the Kingdom and is set in the same universe. It also has a graphical style similar to the look of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.
The story revolves around the so-called War of the Sealed, which took place in Hyrule’s ancient era and famously ended with King Rauru sealing Ganondorf.
It’s up to you to decide who exactly you play. You take on the role of various heroes who stand in the way of Ganondorf’s forces. So far, only Zelda, Rauru and Mineru have been confirmed as playable characters.
Link is missing from the first trailer so far. No wonder, after all, unlike Princess Zelda, he never traveled through time and never took part in the Sealing War. However, Koei Tecmo may still allow themselves artistic license and still integrate the pointed-eared hero.
The game was revealed on April 2 at the Nintendo Direct. The show was mainly about all sorts of revelations around the Switch 2, which is to be released this year in June. So there was a lot of other news about Nintendo and their new console. In the link box (hehe, link) above you can find some of the new messages directly.
