Blades of Fire – Action like in God of War
It all starts with a real surprise: Blades of Fire is an upcoming action-adventure game currently being developed by Spanish developer MercurySteam. The game was first announced at Fan Fest, but is scheduled to be released on May 22, 2025 – for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series consoles.
At first glance, Blades of Fire is reminiscent of the two modern God of War games from Sony. The game is set in a fantasy world in which the evil Queen Nerea has turned all steel into useless stone, thereby subjugating all living things to the power of her armies.
You play as the blacksmith Aran de Lira, a chosen one of the gods, who is the only person able to forge steel with a special hammer. Only you can stop the evil queen’s dark plans now.
Prologue: Go Wayback! – Finally, the first gameplay
Prologue: Go Wayback! is the new game from Brendan Greene, the mastermind behind the successful battle-royale shooter PUBG The survival game was previously developed under the working title Artemis Prologue
and is based on a new engine called Melba.
At the IGN Fan Fest, the first gameplay was presented. The game is scheduled to launch in early access as early as summer 2025; you can already put the title on your wish list on Steam

The War of the Worlds: Siberia – Attack of the Martians
The War of the Worlds: Siberia is an action-adventure game set in late 19th-century Russia. In this alternative history setting, based on the well-known novel by H. G. Wells, Martians attack the Russian Empire in the year 1896.
We play a young student who is on the run from the law and has to forge alliances with shady allies in the face of the alien invasion. Deception is the order of the day here, you have to do everything you can to survive.
Atomfall shows new gameplay
The “British Stalker” from Rebellion has also presented new gameplay and gives you a first insight into the quests, the combat system and exploration in the radioactive zone in the new developer video.
Atomfall is set five years after an accident at the Windscale nuclear power plant in northern England. Unlike in real history, the fire in the game has gotten out of control and now, similar to Stalker, various factions are fighting for control of the nuclear-contaminated area.
First Berserker: Khazan
A new trailer for the upcoming Souls-like First Berserker: Khazan was also shown at Fan Fest. It doesn’t reveal much new content, but it whets the appetite for the release. Because it’s coming very soon: starting March 27, you’ll be able to beat up tons of enemies in the skin of the vengeful General Khazan.
My colleague Dimi Halley tried out the game just a few days ago at Steam Next Fest and was thrilled with the demo. You can find out more in his detailed preview of the game.
