The first major update is intended to fix the problems mentioned by the community around trading and the overly aggressive AI, among other things

The building strategy game Manor Lords was launched in Early Access on Steam and in the Microsoft Game Pass last Friday. As is usual during test phases, not everything is running smoothly yet, and the community has provided solo developer Slavic Magic with some feedback

With 88 percent positive ratings from almost 25,000 reviews on Steam opinions of the game are very good. Nevertheless, there is still some work to be done and a first patch is apparently imminent.

This is what the patch for Manor Lords should bring

Via X, formerly Twitter, gave Slavic Magic a first overview of the upcoming changes:

The most important contents of the patch are as follows:

  • Curious bugs related to homelessness are to be fixed.
  • Adjustments to archer damage.
  • Recently introduced mechanics for oversupply of trade goods penalize players too much and should be adjusted again.
  • The speed at which AI opponents annex territories is to be reduced.
  • Improvements to the efficiency and storage space of sawmills.

When will the patch be released? There is currently no specific date for the release of the patch.

Background of the changes

Fans are reporting several bugs that prevent families from moving into houses at all or only through a few tricks. The resulting homelessness is a factor that reduces the satisfaction of your population and thus reduces growth.

The archers were nerfed at the last minute before the Early Access launch, but this currently makes them pretty useless and far too weak.

Players who specialize in trading a certain commodity are currently punished so harshly by a system that regulates oversupply that this style of play is no longer worthwhile. The community was even allowed to vote on the upcoming adjustment.

A problem frequently mentioned in the Steam reviews is your aggressive neighbors, who take over new areas too quickly and leave players no chance to defend themselves against the resulting superiority.

If you’re still a match for the AI and want to conquer new lands, we’ll tell you how to claim territories for yourself in the guide linked above.
