Pen&Paper apparently existed in the Middle Ages! At least according to Kingdom Come 2. Fans have discovered a lovely Easter egg.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is not only one of the best role-playing games of all time, but also one with the most Easter Eggs. From dinosaurs to a Skyrim reference to a crashed UFO, there are many things to be found in historic Bohemia that most likely never existed there.
Similarly, is another nice Easter eggthat we wish were different. After all, the hard-working people of the Middle Ages deserve a little relaxation over a game of Dungeons & Dragons.
The Easter Egg was discovered by some fansand actually shows a gaming table in a well-hidden place, which we see as a declaration of love for pen-and-paper role-playing games:
Dragons and dungeons in Kingdom Come 2
You roll the dice in Kingdom Come 2 anyway! But we would have loved to have played with Henry in this round too. The Easter Egg was discovered by some players in the community, and we came across it through a Reddit post by user PlaystationN64_:

Funnily enough, the user himself didn’t know what he had apparently discovered here. If you feel the same way: The set table is a reference to a classic pen & paper session In other words, a tabletop role-playing game, with real dice and character sheets made of paper.
A game master guides you through the story, while the players embody their roles. The best known of these are Dungeons & Dragons, Das Schwarze Auge, Vampire: The Masquerade or Pathfinder.
Whoever introduced the Easter Egg into the game knew their stuff There are tons of little details to discover here. For example:
- A gamemaster screen, which shields the game master’s texts and dice rolls from the rest of the group and also often displays the most important rules of the system.
- A hand-drawn floor plan of a dungeon on which the players move their figures. The heroes are apparently represented by armed platypuses, the monsters by small crabs.
- Of course there are dice lying around everywhere! However, only six-sided ones. In D&D or DSA, twenty-sided dice would also be found here. Apparently the group is playing a different system.
- Some objects on the table look like so-called dice prisons. A funny pen & paper tradition in which dice that produce bad results are locked away in a small prison for the duration of the round.
Where is it hidden?
The pen & paper table is difficult to find, but since the big 1.2 update it should be a bit easier to access. You just have to travel to Wysoka. The village is located in the southwest of the Kuttenberg area. Just ride south from Sukdol.
In the southeast of the village, opposite the cobbler, there is a large courtyard with a barn. Directly from the entrance on the right, you can see a ladder leading up to the hayloft, standing on a stack of firewood. It’s a bit fiddly, but you can jump on the stack and then climb up the ladder.
Unfortunately, there is nothing to be found in the hayloft apart from the really chic table. You can’t even pick up a dice here that you could then use for the normal dice game in a tavern! It’s a shame, but it’s still a great easter egg and a loving nod to the origin of modern role-playing games – of which Kingdom Come is one.
