In a new event, you’ll be hunting for gold and platinum licenses that you can exchange for spaceships. There’s a €300 ship up for grabs.
The hunt is on: This is the title of the new event for Star Citizen. And the name says it all, because you are hunting the developers of the game in order to steal valuable platinum licences from them. You need them if you want to get a free spaceship, which would otherwise cost 300 euros. Update: We had incorrect information about the Gold Reward in the text and have now corrected it. We have all the important information on the event, so take a look at the trailer first to get an impression:
What you need to know about the event
Till when does the event run? You have until 7 November 2023 to redeem the prizes you have won.
What’s being hunted? For the most valuable prize, hunt down the developers of Star Citizen and your fellow players. This is because the devs carry around a so-called “Platinum License” in the game, which you can capture. When you redeem it, you get a specific heavy fighter for free – including lifetime insurance and a special paint job.
But beware, once you carry such a licence, your location will be marked for other players who will naturally want to steal it from you. So hurry on your way to the possible redemption points:
- Astro Armada in Area18, New Deal in the city of Lorville (Planet Hurston)
- Crusader Showroom in Orison (at Planet Crusader)
In addition to the platinum licences, there are also gold licences that you can exchange for the same ship – however, you will then only get it on loan for 24 hours and can purchase it permanently for real money until 7 November. In return, these licences can also be found in the game without having to steal them from the developers.
There are only a limited number of licences, so only a certain amount of ships. Exactly how many is not known.
You are welcome to write us there what you think about the new event and whether you participate in it – or whether you would like to see such PvP treasure hunts in other games as well.
