The developers of ByteRocker’s Games bring new customer to their survival title Insurmountable. Update 2.0 will be available from mid-April and will bring new gameplay to the dangerous mountain world.

ByteRocker’s Games has scaled a major milestone. In the latest press release for Insurmountable, the studio now announces that it will be working together with publisher Daedalic Entertainment from now on. From 14 April, you will be able to marvel at the fruits of this joint labour. Update 2.0 will make profound changes to the gameplay of the mountaineering adventure game and make it more multi-faceted.

The objective of Insurmountable is to climb three mountains with one of three climbers. Players must keep track of their characters’ vital signs while braving the dynamic weather system, day/night cycles and various randomly generated events.
Previously, mountains could be climbed seamlessly, while protagonists were allowed to keep the equipment they found on each mission.
With Update 2.0, climbing these three mountains becomes the main mission of the game. This will be joined by ten to twelve side missions. In addition, the climbers return to their base camp, a seemingly abandoned research station, after each mission. However, they cannot carry their mission-specific equipment with them. Instead, each mission gives them important rewards that will strengthen them throughout the game.

During their camp stay, players can upgrade, prepare for the next mission and follow dialogue to uncover the mysterious new story:
The research station where the base camp is set up was the scene of some sinister experiments. These have triggered a time loop that traps the three protagonists (journalist, mountaineer and adventurer). During their ascension missions, the heroes must uncover the secrets of the mountain and try to break out of the time loop.

Insurmountable has been available on Steam since 29 April 2021.
