In an interview, the composer of The Last of Us Parts 1 and 2 has given a hint of a new game.
First a remake of the first part, then a TV series, the rumour mill is bubbling about The Last of Us Part 3 and now a remaster of Part 2 is supposedly coming? At least the composer of the previous parts, Gustavo Santaolalla, “spilled the beans” a bit in a Spanish interview.
Composer speaks of “new version “
Gustavo Santaolalla not only wrote the music of “The Last of Us” parts, but also got an ingame character in Part 2, who plays his banjo in a rocking chair.
The musician was asked about this very character in an interview with (BLENDER)
In reply, he said that one could go to him in the “new version” and he would play certain music on request. During the explanation he suddenly stopped and said that he could say no more about it.
Because of the fact that the character was featured in Part 2, fans are now assuming that the “new version” could be a remaster to the game.
Fans would find a remaster mostly unnecessary
Under a tweet reporting the news, some gamers have rallied who seem less than thrilled about it – after all, they say, there’s already a PS5 update. They say it’s money-making.

But there are also isolated positive voices who would be happy to see a remake entirely in the style of Part 1
Others, on the other hand, suspect that the “new version” does not necessarily have to be a remaster. It could also be that Part 3 is meant, which according to leaks is already in development.
We will see in the future what is ultimately behind this. But the fact is that it is now finally confirmed that Naughty Dog is working on a new game in the series.
