Ten-year-old Skyrim gives you goosebumps with 1,200 graphics mods – and it’s actually playable!

We’ve seen Skyrim modded many times over the past ten years. Whether with spectacularly beautiful forests, as a brand new game Enderal or as a giant mod Beyond Skyrim. But this very special combination of no less than 1,200 graphics mods gave us goosebumps.

The modder Digital Dreams has outdone himself with his latest video, in which he almost turns Skyrim into a completely new game. You’d think we were watching a trailer for an upcoming role-playing game and not a ten-year-old ham. And the almost most impressive thing about it: it actually runs!

Skyrim is unrecognisable

If you have 20 minutes to spare, we recommend you watch the whole video. Because it shows every corner of Skyrim completely changed: Vegetation, enemies, characters, weather, snowy landscapes, sunshine – and all of course with raytracing reshade and in 4K.

So, how can you try out this graphic splendour for yourself? First of all, it requires powerful hardware, of course. The modder himself used the following components for his video:

  • Mainboard: Asus Prime x470-Pro
  • CPU: Ryzen 9 3900x
  • RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32Gb
  • GPU: ASUS TUF RTX 3090
  • SSD: Crucial mx500 2TB

Digital Dreams supporters can find the Reshade presets on their Patreon account The complete “Elysium” modlist (which again comes from Titansbane), a detailed installation guide and ingame hints can be found here

In the past, the modder has already developed, among others, Middle-earth: Mordor’s Shadow, Witcher 3 and Skyrim to grandiose high-end graphics in the past

Such massive projects of a ten-year-old role-playing game, by the way, show that Elder Scrolls 6 will have a hard time following in Skyrim’s footsteps. It finds its champion in the Skyrim Anniversary Edition:

The Skyrim Anniversary Edition shows why Elder Scrolls 6 will have a hard time
